Hastings Mutual offers insurance to hundreds of different kinds of businesses, from academic testing services to wineries (ask your local independent insurance agent if your kind of businesses is eligible for coverage, and he or she will be able to look it up). There’s our main Businessowners coverage, to start with.
We have specialized information sheets for about two dozen types of business right on our website also — look on the right side of the page, where it says, “Add-on coverages.”
One kind of business that has an information sheet is under a name that might seem a little old-fashioned: Innkeepers. You might refer to the person in charge at a hotel as a manager or simply an owner. We’ll stick with the official terms: “innkeeper” and “inn,” to describe a hotel, motel, or other similar building. No matter what the right term is, it’s the coverage that counts.
Here are the details on what our Innkeepers coverage offers:
Maybe the most essential coverage, we’ll cover up to $5,000 if inn guests have property that is damaged or otherwise lost, and the innkeeper is responsible. This could be anything from a power outage to a theft on the grounds of the inn.
Many of the other specific coverages that Innkeepers insurance offers are similar to what our other business-related insurance features. If a drain or sump pump overflows, that can lead to a significant amount of damage (not to mention the smell). A loss from a drain backup can be devastating. Our coverage pays up to $10,000 for a loss.
There’s a lot of trust in place when guests stay at an inn; they want to see the sites, enjoy time on the beach, or get business done (maybe all of the above). What they don’t want is to have to worry about the safety of their possessions. That’s why, as an innkeeper, you have safes and plenty of security for your property. And if the worst does happen, like the theft or destruction of money, your Hastings Mutual Innkeepers coverage compensates the loss of money and securities up to $5,000.
Those are just a few of the types of coverage you receive with Innkeepers insurance. Talk with your local independent insurance agent to learn more.
