Summit participants reconvened in October to conduct an Alpha review of the product training and communication deliverables, and continue knowledge transfer of product change information. This included a walkthrough of the updates applied to the HMIC General Liability and Commercial Inland Marine Underwriting Manuals.
In November, the training materials will go through Beta review with summit participants and select others who have not been involved in the development of the materials, but have a good working knowledge of the Commercial Package Policy (CPP) implementation. This may include individuals who are engaged in user acceptance testing (UAT).
Defining the Terms
Alpha Review
An Alpha review is an initial evaluation of the content to make sure it will meet the needs of the intended audience; at this point, the content is ~60% complete
Beta Review
Beta review is when the content is almost done (~80% complete).
In addition, we will provide the Change Agent Network (CAN) with a demo of the learning materials at the November 8 CAN meeting. This is an opportunity to test the content and to get feedback from the CAN members. From there, the materials will be finalized in early December, and shared with those who will create function-specific training resources for their teams.
The revised underwriting manuals will be posted well in advance of the first go live (January 30, 2023). This is primarily because Hastings Mutual is completing the product filings now for all states versus by wave. It will be important underwriters know the effective date for each state, so they do not use the updated manuals until it is time. This will be covered in product training.
Product training will begin in January 2023, for those who are highly impacted by the product change. All others will be trained in May 2023.
