We were able to help Terry soon after COVID-19 shut down many businesses. In April and May, we paused charging premiums for auto insurance, and
also stopped policies from being canceled for non-payment. This was a small way Hastings Mutual was able to help many people who were out of work. Even now some haven’t been able to earn an income the way they had before COVID-19, and we are
working with them to help maintain their coverage.
A close focus on our customers — our policyholders, our independent insurance agent partners, and even the general public who aren’t yet policyholders — is something Hastings Mutual has always done. While we offer online tools to help
visitors learn about our products and streamline the policy submission process, it’s the one-on-one relationships with people that matter most.
We were very glad to hear Patrick’s message when we followed up with him. Many people like to research financial matters on their own, maybe because they do it in the middle of the night, or maybe because they want to know what’s happening
with their money. But when it comes to insurance, an expert like your local independent agent can help with the details — additions or changes
to a policy to cover your specific situation, so you’re only paying for what you actually need.
We keep agents updated with the newest versions of our insurance coverage and let them know about discounts and credits available to policyholders. They can pass those on to you. It’s the kind of thing you might not know about without talking to an agent, like Patrick did.
