If you search online for “roadside assistance,” you’ll find contact information for local tow trucks and details on changing flat tires and emergency fuel delivery. You’ll also find links to companies offering roadside assistance, including Hastings Mutual. We offer service for the car you drive to work (personal auto), and the vehicle you might drive while you’re on the clock (business auto).
What’s included in our personal and business roadside assistance coverage? Talk with your local independent insurance agent to get all the details, but as you can see, they are similar in a lot of ways. They both offer towing, emergency fluid delivery, and tire changes, among other coverages. If the destination of your choice is not within a 10-mile radius, your vehicle will be towed to our nearest authorized repair facility.
Towing is probably the first thing most people think of when they’re in need of emergency roadside assistance. Our towing coverage will tow your non-working personal or business vehicle to a repair shop of your choice within 10 miles. If the destination of your choice is not within a 10-mile radius, your vehicle will be towed to our nearest authorized repair facility.
We’ll pay up to $350 to tow heavy and extra-heavy trucks and trailers with a gross vehicle weight of more than 20,000 pounds. You won’t find this coverage everywhere; at Hastings Mutual, we want to offer support for your entire business process.
About 2% of vehicles sold in the U.S. each year are electric or at least partly electric (hybrid), and many others are already on the road. But even those vehicles need fluid: gasoline, motor oil, water, and other liquids for the engine. We’ll get a service provider to your stranded vehicle and add enough fluid to get you to a station for complete service.
Well, you know what this is: not just the tire but also the related stuff like lug nuts and a jack. Your auto coverage with roadside assistance will also take care of the actual labor of removing the flat and replacing it with a new tire.
A completely disabled personal vehicle can lead to a lot of problems, especially when it interferes with flights or when you’re out of town. Our coverage extends to reasonable services to help with that inconvenience, like scheduling needed hotel reservations or contacting your spouse to let him or her know where you are.
Whether you’re driving on your free time or as part of your work, hopefully you will never need to use emergency roadside assistance. But it’s good to know it’s available, along with your other valuable Hastings Mutual auto coverage.
Tell me about a time you’ve needed roadside assistance. How did it help? Let me know in the comments.
